Women Cell of our college organized two Interactive sessions for the college students on 14/10/2022 under the guidance and leadership of our Principal, Dr. Narender Kumar. 1. First interactive session by the trainers Razia and Tanu Priya from Breakthrough NGO. Women safety is an important and alarming issue for the society. Keeping this in view, Faridabad Police has tied up with this NGO to do a Women Security Survey for whole Faridabad District. In this regard, an interaction session was arranged for our college students where the trainers discussed about “5D” s (Distract, Delegate, Document, Delay and Direct) in detail to minimize street harassment. Students learned different strategies to respond to harassment, how to prioritize their own safety while intervening, and how to respond if they get harassed. After the session, 61 students volunteered themselves to be a part of this women security survey initiative. These volunteers will now further be trained by this NGO for this programme. 2. Second interactive session by the Inspector, Basant Kumar, SHO, Cyber Police Station, Faridabad and his team, Sube Singh (Police Spokesperson) and others, on “Cyber Crime and Sextortion against Women” under the "Cybersecurity Awareness Month- an awareness drive initiated by Haryana Police" under the guidance of DCP Nitish Agarwal, Faridabad. Sh. Basant Kumar explained how the need for increased cybersecurity awareness has become a paramount in this time where the internet plays a critical role in the daily life of people. Cybersecurity Awareness Month helps stress the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity to stay secure. Total 205 students participated and got benefitted from the sessions. The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Neha Aggarwal (Convener- Women Cell) along with the other members of Women Cell. Special thanks to Dr. Raman Kumar for hosting the event and Dr. Balbir Dahiya for his benign presence.
