NSS unit of GCW Faridabad invited prominent social worker Sh. Vijay Kumar on 27th March, 2023 for a lecture on Indian culture and importance of Hindu New Year.
Sh. Vijay Kumar addressed the students and made them aware about the scientific basis of Hindu New Year which is celebrated every year on 1st day of 'Chaitra' month. Hindu New Year also coincides with the change in the cycle of season and harvesting of rabi crops. Besides this, Sh. Vijay Kumar also shared important insights on India's ancient culture and history. He was accompanied by Sh. Ganga Shankar Mishra, another important social worker. Principal Sir Dr. Narender Kumar in his welcome note told the students that they should respect and have knowledge of their Indian culture and not get swayed by the western culture. The lecture concluded with vote of thanks by Ms. Ritika Gupta, Vice-Principal. The lecture was attended by all the staff members. About 250 students attended the lecture.
