Department of Sociology organized national level online quiz competition on 'Sustainable Development' on the occasion of World Environment Day (5th June, 2022, Sunday) for U. G. and P. G. students. The main objective of promoting World Environment Day with theme of the year 2022, 'Only One Earth', was to create awareness among students about sustainable development as our society has reached a critical stage where the future direction is to be very carefully planned in order to restore and maintain the balance between the environment and development. Man must realize that he does not own nature, he is only one of its many offsprings. Nature is not due to man, man is due to nature.
For this purpose a google form was created with twenty multiple choice questions on various aspects of sustainable development and provided to participants through online generated link.
We have received entries from Haryana (Faridabad, Gurugram, Hisar, Bhiwani, Rohtak), Uttar Pradesh (Meerut, Chandausi Sambhal, Ghaziabad, Bareilly, Varanasi, Lucknow), Maharashtra (Pune), Gujarat (Gandhinagar) and Delhi etc and in total 244 entries. Out of 244 participants, 181 participants have been secured 50% and above marks and they got E- Certificate for the same.
This event was successfully organized under support and guidance of our worthy Principal Dr. Sunidhi. This event was organized by Ms. Sheetal Rani, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, GCW, Faridabad.
