Women Cell in collaboration with Home-Science Department organized a seminar on the topics "Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojna (PMMVY)" and "Feminine health and hygiene" on 07/09/2022 for the college students under the celebration of Rashtriya Poshan Maah, 2022. The speakers for the sessions were Ms. Vikal, District coordinator, PMMVY, Women and Child Development Department, Faridabad and Ms. Geetika Sabharwal, District coordinator, Poshan Abhiyaan, Faridabad.
Ms. Vikal introduced the students with different schemes and benefits for Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers provided by our Government under PMMVY (a maternity benefit program run by Govt. of India).
Ms. Geetika Sabharwal educated the girls about health and hygiene practices to create awareness amongst them as most of the girls in India do not have access to safe feminine hygiene products, endangering their health, curtailing their education and putting their livelihoods at risk.
The session then came to an end with the free distribution of sanitary napkins to our students to encourage its usage.
The event was successfully coordinated by Ms. Neelam Rani (HOD- Home Science Dept.), Dr. Neha Aggarwal (Convener- Women Cell), Ms. Meenal Sabharwal, Ms. Divesh, Ms. Chanchal and Ms. Priya Saini under the leadership of our Principal Sir, Dr. Narender Kumar. Total 95 students participated and got benefitted from this seminar.
