World radio day

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized a discussion on February 13 to mark World Radio Day. During the event students of the department shared their thoughts on the history of radio as well as its present scenario.
Principal Dr. Sunidhi extended her best wishes to the students on World Radio Day. She spoke about the importance of radio and emphasized the need to adapt to its evolving forms in the modern era. Head of the Department Shalini Khurana highlighted the significant role of radio in the countrys development. She mentioned that even the Honorable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi chose radio as the medium for his Mann Ki Baat program.
She also stated that in 2011 the United Nations initiated the observance of World Radio Day on February 13 and since then it has been celebrated globally.
On this occasion MAJMC students Manisha Kashish Kanak Himanshi Ankita Sonam and Komal shared their views on the current status and challenges of radio. Faculty members Savita Nagar and Suresh Kumar were also present at the event.
