Commerce and Management Department of government college for women, Faridabad organised a cultural programme "Punjab da Mela" on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi on 13 Apr 2022 under the able guidance and support of worthy principal Mrs. Sunidhi. In the programme, the students showcased their talent in the form of colourful cultural activities. In the opening ceremony, the officiating principal Mrs. Ritika Gupta told the students the history of Baisakhi that 10th guru of Sikhs, guru Gobind Singh Ji established Khalsa Panth on 13th Apr 1699 and the Punjabi new year is also celebrated on the day of Baisakhi. This is the reason Baisakhi is celebrated with joy and enthusiasm not only in Punjab but in the whole India. Students presented various folk songs alongwith dance presentation on Punjabi theme songs. Senior lecturers Ms. Archana Verma, Ms. Satvinder Kaur, Dr. Parul Rana, Ms. Shalini Khurana, Ms. Vijaya, Ms. Pooja Singh, Ms. Poonam Almadi alongwith other faculty members graced the occasion with their presence. The event was successfully organised and coordinated by all the members of Department of Commerce and Management. Around 352 students participated in the event.
