A series of extension lectures were organised by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication from 14th-16th September, 2022 in collaboration with the Women Cell to celebrate Doordarshan Diwas. Television broadcast started in India on 15th September, 1959. Doordarshan was called Television India at that time.
Several lectures by the industry experts were organised under the able guidance and leadership of Dr Narendar Kumar, worthy Principal of Government College for Women, Faridabad.
14th September, 2022 – Day 1
Ms Pushpanjali (Output Producer, News Nation) addressed the students. She shared her experience about a working TV Newsroom in details and also shared valuable information about the avenues in Electronic Media and how to develop content for Digital Media.
15th September, 2022 – Day 2
Ms Juhi Jha (Programme Producer, Zee News) pondered upon the relevance of News, Programming and various collaterals of the News industry. She also guided students about the skills required in the field of electronic media and how to hone writing skills.
16th September, 2022 – Day 3
Ms Murti Dalal (Senior Reporter, Amar Ujala Publications) shared hands on experience from TV and Print industry and the challenges faced by the Journalists. She also told students about the various aspects of TV Programming and how to work on their speaking and writing skills and
These interactive and informative sessions were attended by all the students of BAJMC Department. The students raised many queries related to the field of Journalism and its career aspects. Ms Shalini Khurana and Mr Suresh faculty, members of the department also addressed the students.
