GCW Faridabad was the host college for the Inter District Level Science Exhibition for the colleges (both Govt & Aided) covering three districts of Faridabad, Nuh & Palwal that was held on 29th & 30th January, 2024. 96 Participants from 16 Colleges exhibited their working models covering the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geography, Computer Science and Psychology. They were accompanied by 39 teachers and 07 non-teaching staff. The themes covered were Applied Electronics, Optics, Mechanics, Heat, Rocket Technology in Physics; Industrial Chemistry, Polymers, Adulterations in Chemistry; Role of Microbes, Genetics in Botany; Gene Cloning, Integrated Pest management, Pathology in Zoology; Role of health and lifestyle, stress management in Psychology; Desertification, Physical Landscapes, Remote Sensing & GIS in Geography and real world applications by virtual means through animation with the concepts of AI being embedded in Computer Science. There were 12 judges comprising of subject experts from the world of academia that were invited to decide the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. The models judged at 1st position in all the seven subjects were to participate in the State Level Science Exhibition that was to be organized by GC Hisar on 5th & 6th February, 2024. Sh. S.K. Chaturvedi, Joint Director, National Council for Cement & Building Materials, Faridabad was the Chief Guest on 29th January on the day of inauguration and Prof. Ranjana Aggarwal, Director CSIR- National Institute of Science Communication & Policy Research was the Chief Guest for the Prize Distribution Function on 30th January, 2024. Ms. Ritika Gupta, Principal GCG Ballabgarh and Ms. Archana Verma, Principal GC Palwal too graced the function. Principal Dr. Narender Kumar expressed gratitude towards the Chief Guests, Judges and other guests for taking out time from their hectic schedule for the exhibition. Talking to the media, he said that many of the ideas conveyed by the students through their models were capable of providing solution to the real-world problems. The exhibition was made successful by the cooperation and team work of College council, staff members and non-teaching staff as well as student volunteers.
