Government Women's College, Sector 16A, Faridabad, organized a voter awareness program under the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative launched by the Election Commission of India. The program aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of voting and encourage them to exercise their right to vote. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Shikha Antil, the chief guest, inaugurated the program by planting a tree in the college premises. In her address, SDM Antil emphasized the district administration's objective to promote maximum fair voting and increase voter participation in the upcoming elections, highlighting the measures being taken to achieve this goal. Lokesh Rajput, Brand Ambassador for Faridabad's Assembly Elections and special guest, also appealed to the students to participate in the democratic process. Principal Dr. Sunidhi expressed her gratitude to SDM Antil and emphasized the importance of voting in a democratic setup, noting that voting percentages are often higher in rural areas compared to urban areas, stressing the need for educated individuals to participate in the electoral process. Dr. Sunidhi urged students to exercise their right to vote and create awareness among people in their surroundings. The program, moderated by Dr. Balram Arya, concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Rachna Saini, NSS PO.
